Xiaoice

XiaoIce, an AI chatbot developed by Microsoft Asia’s Software Technology Center (STCA), is now its own company. The technology was first created in 2014 and is based on a framework of emotional computing. In 2019, the XiaoIce team coined the term “AI Being” to refer to digital employees that use AI technology to understand, interpret, and respond to human communication tasks. Examples of this include the virtual singer “Luo Tianyi” and Sequoia Capital China’s “Hóng”, their first virtual analyst. With these applications of XiaoIce’s AI Being technology being successfully implemented in various scenarios, it looks like this exciting new venture will continue to grow for years to come!
