OpenAI Codex is a powerful machine learning tool that enables users to quickly turn written English into code. It has the ability to understand how people use code, so it can generate much more accurate results than its predecessor GPT-3. In fact, OpenAI claims that Codex offers 37% accuracy on coding tasks compared to GPT-3’s 0%. In collaboration with GitHub, OpenAPI has released an app called GitHub Copilot as the first project powered by Codex. Later this summer they will be releasing Codex via their API which will allow developers to explore and build upon the capabilities of Codex for their own projects.
